British Transplant Games Supported by Scenic Air Tours NE

Scenic Air Tours North East is sponsoring Newcastle Adults Transplant Team at the British Transplant Games 2017, as co-owner Tracy, is taking part in the swimming gala on Saturday 29th July.

The Transplant Games is the flagship event of Transplant Sport which was introduced by Transplant Surgeon Maurice Slapack in Portsmouth in 1978.

The aim was to demonstrate the benefits of transplantation, encouraging transplant patients to regain fitness following operation, whilst increasing public awareness of the need for more people to join the NHS Organ Donation Register and discuss their wishes with their families. They also seek to thank and celebrate donor families and the gift of life.

Tracy received a kidney transplant in January 2013 but had long been an advocate of organ donation before her diagnosis of chronic kidney failure. And now feels she is giving something back to the community that helped her.
